From there, a rubber and plaster mold is made and hot wax is poured into the mold to create an exact wax replica. The wax version is then carefully refined by hand before being encased in a ceramic shell. When the shell is heated, the wax melts out, leaving behind a hollow cavity where molten bronze is poured at nearly 2,000 degrees.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan class=\"x_s1\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"x_p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"x_s1\"\u003eOnce cooled, the ceramic shell is broken away and the bronze sculpture goes through an extensive finishing process that includes metal chasing, welding, sandblasting, patina work, polishing, and sealing.
